Funnye, a wide receiver for the warriors, was selected back in late-October to represent Georgetown County in the big conference game with 87 other football players across South Carolina. He is the third Warrior to play behind Jabbrel Drayton (2015) and Trey Davis (2018).

Funnye finished his senior campain with 31 receptions for 925 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Warriors lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Dillon Wildcats.

As Funnye came up and was presented his award, Ardis again congratulated the senior player for his hard-work and achievement. After being handed his award, Funnye spoke about his next steps in the big conference game and future goals.

“Next step going forward is of course playing the game,” Funnye said “Keep going on; keep playing ball at the next level. Keep driving and working hard to keep getting awards and better myself.”

Funnye plans to further his education and major in business administration and culinary arts or in education.
