The high school basketball regular season is about four weeks away, and Carvers Bay High will open the preseason hosting the 2018 Carvers Bay Bear Jam Nov. 13 through 15.

Thirty-six boys and girls varsity and junior varsity teams will play in the jamboree, including 12 boys teams and six girls teams that reached the state playoffs last season.

Teams competing in the event include: Socastee, Creek Bridge, St. James, Andrews, Lake City, Kingstree, Carolina Forest, Hemingway, Conway, Darlington, South Florence, North Charleston, Waccamaw, South Florence, Marion and Hannah-Pamplico.

The jamboree begins on Nov. 13 with the Creek Bridge JV girls facing off against the Andrews JV girls and wraps up the Carvers Bay boys varsity team against Marion, a rematch of the 2018 SCHSL Lower State Championship.

Admission is $7 per night or $20 for a three-day pass.

Georgetown High School will host the Bulldog Shootout Nov. 16-20. That jamboree features four boys basketball teams that reached the SCHSL playoffs last season.

Teams competing include: Philip Simmons, Johnsonville, Conway, Waccamaw, C.E. Murray, Georgetown School of Arts and Sciences, Socastee and Georgetown.

The regulars season begins Tuesday, Oct. 27, when Georgetown and Carvers Bay square off at Carvers Bay High School.
