Dorothy Stegin Porter
Dorothy Stegin Porter, 89, widow of Edwin Theodore Porter, Jr., died Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Porter was born in Savannah, Georgia on March 19, 1930, a daughter of the late John Joseph Stegin and Rose Bigler Stegin. She grew up in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High School and Armstrong Junior College before moving to Georgetown after her marriage in 1951.
She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served in many ministries, including Sunday School, Altar Guild and Choir.
She is survived by four children: Sally Zeigler (Gator) of Georgetown; Sissy Rogerson of Murrells Inlet; Ted Porter of Georgetown; and Johnny Porter (Pat) of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by: a sister, Rose S. Rhodes and two brothers, William S. Stegin and Joseph S. Stegin.
Funeral services will be at eleven o’clock, Friday, February 14, 2020, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday morning between ten until eleven o’clock in the Church Parlor.

Faye Mixon Stuckey
Faye Mixon Stuckey, 84, widow of Thomas Wilson Stuckey, Sr., passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at her home.
Mrs. Faye was born in Andrews, SC, a daughter of the late Ansel Lee and Rebecca Ard Mixon. She was a retired secretary and Real Estate Agent for Blakley Brothers, a member of the Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church, but attended Nesmith Baptist Church and played the piano for 64 years. She was also a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed working in her yard.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Wilson (Ellen) Stuckey and Lee Kirkland “Kirk” (Addie McKenzie) Stuckey; brother, Phillip (Rebecca) Mixon; sister-in-law, Lynn Mixon; many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by brothers, Levon (Joann) Mixon and Virgil Mixon.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 9 in the Nesmith Baptist Church. Entombment was held in the family mausoleum at the Nesmith Baptist Church cemetery.
The family received friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall of Nesmith Baptist Church, 2836 Nesmith Road, Nesmith, SC 29580.
