Gracie Carolene Carter Cribb, known as "Carolene" to friends and family, 90, widow of Clinton Leroy Cribb, died Friday, February 15, 2019, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Cribb was born on August 24, 1928, in the Pleasant Hill Community of Georgetown County. She was the fifth born child of the eight children of Jackson Joseph Carter and Margaret Gertrude Marsh Carter. The other siblings were, Allen Levay, Annie Bertha, Elbert, twins Dorothy and Dalmar, Jessie Willard and Libby.
Carolene married Clinton L. Cribb in 1950. They had one child, Kathy C. Thompson (David). She had one granddaughter, Kristen T. Long (Spencer) and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Spencer and Bevan Caroline Long, all of Georgetown. Mrs. Cribb also had several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
She was employed with Belk Department Store of Georgetown for twenty five years. Later she retired from Georgetown County School District. Mrs. Cribb was known for her love of cooking and entertaining. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown where she attended Ruth's Sunday School Class.
Funeral Services were held at three o'clock Monday afternoon, February 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. The Family received friends one hour prior to the service from two until three o'clock. Officiating was the Rev. Keith Wall.

It is with great sadness the family of Daniel Kowaleski announces his passing on Friday, February 15, 2019, at the age of 78.
Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, and his devoted children and granddaughters.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at the church columbarium.

Charles McCray Sr.
Charles Atlas McCray Sr., died on February 10, 2019, in Georgetown, SC. Funeral services were held on February 14, 2019, at Lighthouse of Jesus Christ, Bishop Floyd Knowlin, pastor. The eulogy was delivered by Rev. Timothy M. Cooper, Sr., pastor of Shiloh A.M.E. Church.
Mr. McCray was born on Nov. 11, 1938, in Georgetown, SC, to the late Mrs. Beatrice McCray Dingle and Mr. Frank Drayton. He was reared by his grandparents, Mr. Alexander McCray and Mrs. Janie Keith McCray. His religious foundation was received in his family home and at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, where he served faithfully. He graduated from Howard High School in 1957. Mr. McCray was employed as a cutter with The Georgetown Dress Mfg. Co. and thereafter worked with Santee Cooper Winyah Generating Station for 23 years, retiring in 2000. Until her passing on April 22, 1999, Mr. McCray was united in marriage to the former Miss Bertha Evans, on June 6, 1964. They were blessed with three children. In 2001, Mr. McCray married Mrs. Albertha Brave Wright.

McCray, Georgetown, SC; his step-daughter, Cheryl Barnes, Fairborn, GA; his brothers, Clarence McCray, Frank Drayton, Elder Lester Drayton, Georgetown, SC, Henry Dingle, Awendaw, SC, Rev. Shepherd Drayton, Pawleys Island, SC, Presiding Elder Sandy Drayton, Monks Corner, SC, Pershy Drayton, Upper Marlboro, MD, Rev. Michael Drayton, Fort Washington, MD; his sisters, Elaine Gadsen, Dorothy Herman, Stella Drayton, Veronica Coakley, Georgetown, SC, Jacquelyn Dennison, Conway, SC, Arlene Dingle, Awendaw, SC, and Marilyn Newell, Moncks Corner, SC. John Henry Porterfield, died on February 6, 2019, at Vibra Hospital in Charleston, SC. Funeral services were held on February 15, 2019, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Alphonso N. Scott, M. Div., pastor.
Mr. Porterfield was born on May 7, 1936 in Georgetown County, SC, to the marital union between the late Mr. Charlie Porterfield, Sr. and Mrs. Elouise Smalls Porterfield. His education was received in the public schools of Georgetown County. Mr. Porterfield enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country honorably for 16 years as a Naval Mechanic with Fighter Squadron Thirty-One, and was a later a member of the Lowcountry Veteran's Group. He was united in marriage to the former Miss Mary Lewis. They were blessed with two daughters. Mr. Porterfield joined Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, and remained a faithful, active member in numerous capacities as he was needed. Mr. Porterfield rendered many years of exemplary service with Livingston Auto Repair Center of Georgetown, SC, as an auto specialist. He was also a certified welder, having trained at Horry Georgetown Technical College.
Surviving are his former wife, Mary L. Porterfield, and their children, Darletha Denson and Felicia Lewis, all of Moreno, CA; his sisters, Jannie Campbell, Helen Ryals, both of Albany, NY, and Mary P. Kinlaw , his devoted caregiver of the North Santee Community, Georgetown, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
