Arrest warrants for a 19-year-old Maryville man charged with murder shed new light on the case.

Theophilus Xavier Berry was arrested May 24, the same day the body of 18-year-old Ja'Quan Collins was found along Walker Road in southern Georgetown County.

Warrants for Berry say he stole Collins' car and cell phone and shot him with a pistol. Investigators say the incident happened around May 20 in the Sampit area.

The Georgetown County Coroner's Office said Collins died from multiple gunshot wounds. Berry is also charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Collins was reported missing on May 22. Family members said he was last seen on Mount Zion Road driving a silver Honda Accord.

Berry is currently being held without bail at the Georgetown County jail. Records show that in December he was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. He was charged with the same offense again in February.
