The teams then finished on Sept. 22, before the rain came again.

In doubles, Howell and Goodwin defeated McClary and Balding 8-6 at No. 1; Blakely and Wall defeated Razzi and Tison 8-1 at No. 2; and Bell and Gabi Cardinale defeated Starnes and Whitlock 8-1 at No. 3.

“We needed a team win as so many of our players have been working hard,” coach Grace George said. “This will hopefully give us some confidence as we head into ... region matches this week.”

In junior varsity matches, Mary Kate Cooper and Kaitlin Bellune won, and Avery-Claire Benton was ahead 7-3 before the rain ended the match.

“It’s nice for Lowcountry to once again have a team,” George said. “They are also a good team for us to play, and close to home.”
