Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputies have found no evidence that a woman who came to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital last night with a head injury was victim of a gunshot.
The woman was being evasive about how her injury occurred. She remains at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Thursday night, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a possible shooting incident that took place at a residence on Pennyroyal Road.
A woman came to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital with an injury, according to Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver. She was transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment.
Georgetown County spokesperson Jason Lesley said she wasn't shot and offered little information about events that led to her injury.
"She was evasive and they weren't sure why" Lesley said.
She remains in MUSC. The investigation is ongoing.
