Front Street storm flooding

The storm flooded the streets of downtown Georgetown on May 21, 2020.

The City of Georgetown announced Friday that Gulf Stream Construction Company will begin construction activities to replace the stormwater drainage infrastructure on Queen Street between Front Street and the Harborwalk Marina. The work is scheduled as follows:

1. May 26th – May 29th: Barricade work area, set up perimeter controls, potholing, and locate existing utilities.

2. June 30th – August 15th: Removal of existing stormwater pipe, install new 48-in. diameter stormwater sewer and structures.

Schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen conditions. Parking spaces in this area will not be available as this section of Queen Street will turn into a construction area for the contractor during the project.
