The Strand Cinema will show WWI documentary that utilizes recolored film technology to bring history to life.

The Strand Cinema is showing the film “They Shall Not Grow Old” on June 22 at 7:00 p.m.

This 2018 film is a unique look at WWI from famed producer Peter Jackson (Mortal Engines, The Lord of the Rings, King Kong).

Utilizing ground-breaking restoration technology, Jackson’s film crew brings WWI to life in a way it has never before been seen through restoration, colorizing and retiming of film frames. “They Shall Not Grow Old” is a cinematic attempt to honor those who fought in WWI and more accurately depict this most significant moment of world history for modern viewers.

Admission is $5 for Strand Cinema members and $7 for every else. Box office opens 30 minutes prior to screening.
