Emmy-award winning actor and Georgetown native will portray Ray Bradbury at the Strand Theater on July 6.

The Strand Theater will present a special theatrical production entitled “Ray Bradbury Live (Forever)” on July 6 as a fundraising event for the theater.

The two person traveling show features Emmy winner Bill Oberst Jr. as Ray Bradbury as well as actress Stacy Rabon as Ray’s wife. They will be presenting the show direct from sell-out performances in Los Angeles and 2019 Piccolo Spoleto. The performance features excerpts from “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and “The Martian Chronicles.”

Ray Bradbury designed Disney’s Spaceship Earth and inspired the holodeck for Star Trek. He is credited with turning generations of readers into fans of sci-fi and space-related literature. Bradbury wrote “Fahrenheit 451,” “Dandelion Wine,” and “The Martian Chronicles” in addition to many others.

“Ray Bradbury Live (Forever)” is a single, 90-minute performance. Two shows will be presented on July 6 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at www.swampfoxplayers.com or by calling 843-527-2924.
