Georgetown resident and Valedictorian Catherine Drosieko addresses her classmates in Columbia as part of her graduation experience from the online-based South Carolina Connections Academy.

Six Georgetown area students joined over 500 graduating seniors in Columbia to participate in a graduation ceremony from South Carolina Connections Academy on June 7.

The local students were David Wheeler, James Creel, Madison Kinmartin, Catherine Drosieko, Savannah Early and Landon Scully. Drosieko was the class valedictorian and gave a speech to class of 2019 in Columbia. She will be attending Anderson University on a tennis scholarship.

South Carolina Connections Academy is a state-wide, online public school. They serve approximately 4,750 students throughout the Palmetto State from Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. It is tuition-free and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
