Rookie of the Year

The Georgetown County School District announced the finalists for the 2017-18 Rookie of the Year on April 11. On hand for the announcement were, from left, Executive Director for Human Resources Jon Tester, nominees Cassidy Wilson of Rosemary Middle School, Chante` Mishoe of Plantersville Elementary School, Michelle Johnson of Kensington Elementary School, Reggie Jackson of Carvers Bay Middle School, and Carlos Gurerra of Andrews High School, and Superintendent of Schools Randy Dozier.

The Georgetown County School District announced the finalists for the 2017-18 Rookie of the Year on April 11. The finalists are: Cassidy Wilson, Rosemary Middle School; Chante' Mishoe, Plantersville Elementary School; Michelle Johnson, Kensington Elementary School; Reggie Jackson, Carvers Bay Middle School; and Carlos Gurerra, Andrews High School.

The finalists were chosen from Rookie of the Year nominees from all the district's schools. The other nominees were: Kaity Mears, Andrews Elementary School; Tiffany Nesbit, Brown’s Ferry Elementary School; Sarah McNellie, Coastal Montessori Charter School; Kristen Hannon, Georgetown High School; Jonathan Greene, Georgetown Middle School; Kimberly Wall, Maryville Elementary School; Adrian Crabtree, Sampit Elementary School; Elizabeth Roberts, Waccamaw Elementary School; Fernando Miranda, Waccamaw High School; and Antonio Forline, Waccamaw Middle School.

The Rookie of the Year will be announced at the Induction Celebration on Wednesday, May 16.
