Carter Weaver, Sheriff of Georgetown County, reports the arrest of a local man in connection with at least one Kensington-area burglary.
After several recent reports of burglaries and larcenies in the Kensington community, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to the area. Investigators collected evidence, spoke with residents, and even discovered another home that had been burglarized but was yet to be reported.
Ultimately, investigators were able to develop a suspect: Justin Allen Mincey, 25, of Georgetown. On Dec. 6, 2019, they arrested Mincey in the parking lot of a local pawn shop. At the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of some of the property reported stolen.
According to the report, Mincey faces burglary charges and is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The investigation is on-going in an effort to identify any additional victims or suspects.
