Four men arrested

On Friday Jan. 24, Georgetown Police Department arrested another suspect in an on-going shooting investigation in Georgetown.

Andre Malik Marks, 19, of Georgetown was arrested in his connection to the shooting that took place on the 2000 block of Legion Street Monday night. Marks has been charged with murder, armed robbery and robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. Marks joins Steven Matthew Elliot, Coltin Brad Anderson and Malachi Kadeem Thompson in jail.

According to the police report, Elliot and Anderson went to Legion Street to buy marijuana. The dealers tried to rob them and shot at them. Elliot said in self-defense, he returned fire with a gun he was carrying. The altercation resulted in the death of 33-year old Kawaun Montique Myers at Georgetown Hospital.

Elliot, 22, was charged with murder in connection to the crime. Anderson, 22, was also shot but survived. After being discharged, he was arrested on Wednesday, Jan.22 and charged with murder.

Thompson surrendered on early Thursday morning to authorities and was charged with murder, armed robbery/robbery while armed with a weapon and criminal domestic violence.

All four men are currently incarcerated and await bond hearing in court.
