While so many are lending a hand to Tidelands Health team members amid the coronavirus pandemic, Scholl’s Wellness Co. is taking care of their tired feet.
The maker of Dr. Scholl’s products, a brand synonymous with foot care and comfort for more than a century, is donating nearly 1,600 pairs of comfort insoles to Tidelands Health to support those medical professionals on their feet all day taking care of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founded by Dr. William Scholl, the company has been supporting health care workers since its start in 1904, when Dr. Scholl invented and patented his first arch support. Now, the company is donating more than $1.3 million in insoles to support health care professionals nationwide.
“We felt it was important to help in this time of need,” said Claudia Metcalf, vice president of marketing for Scholl’s Wellness Co. “It’s part of our DNA to support the health care industry. We hope this will provide a little extra support to those on the front lines.”
The New Jersey-based company is donating 150,000 pairs of Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Work insoles to hospitals and medical centers across the country to help support health care workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As a thank you for the compassionate and professional care he is receiving from the Tidelands Health Cancer Care Network, a local patient nominated Tidelands Health to receive a donation of insoles.
“These high-quality insoles will bring such relief and comfort to our team of medical professionals who are tirelessly working on their feet all day as we battle COVID-19,” said Pam Maxwell, chief nursing officer at Tidelands Health.
