Quigley’s Pint and Plate in Pawleys Island will host “Dining for a Cause" on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The event benefits Miss Ruby’s Kids: the only in home, early childhood learning program in Georgetown County.

Josh Quigley and co-owner Billy Davis host many community events each year. Their support this November includes both “Dining for a Cause” and “Toys for Tots.”

Quigley’s is a family-friendly restaurant and micro-brewery which maintains its reputation for warm Southern hospitality and delicious food, plus freshly brewed ales and lagers. Eight beers are always on tap, including special beers brewed seasonally by Quigley himself. Guests may dine in the bar area, the dining room, or waterfront on the patio. Quigley’s also has plenty of room for private events arranged in advance.

Quigley’s offers a variety of appetizers, creative salads, and entrees inspired by traditional Low Country dishes. These include fresh seafood, specialty burgers, fried green tomatoes, and surf &turf, just to name a few. The Thursday night special is “All You Can Eat” shrimp, plus there is a yummy children’s menu.

Quigley’s Pint and Plate is one of several area restaurants that have generously agreed to donate a portion of their day’s proceeds to further the work of Miss Ruby’s Kids. This unique, early intervention literacy program for families in need is the only in home program in Georgetown county.

“We begin working with 2- and 3-year-old children and their parents/care givers, then continue to support the children, when they reach school age, through the volunteer education mentor program,” said MRK Executive Director Karen Laga. “We believe that the first five years are the best time to invest in our children’s lives. Our goal is to inspire a passion for learning in two and three year old children and their parents/care givers. It is our hope, that all children in Georgetown County will enter school prepared to learn, supported by their families, and will graduate from high school as productive citizens.”

Located at 257 Willbrook Blvd. in Pawleys Island, Quigley’s is open daily from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling 843-237-7010. For more information about Miss Ruby’s Kids call 843-436-7197, “like” its Facebook page or go to www.missrubyskids.net.
