Georgetown city workers and employees got a special surprise Thursday May 21.
May 17-23 was National Public Works Week and for the City of Georgetown employees, they received a meal from Hardee’s to honor their continuing services to the public. Employees from the department were provided with a bag lunch and a drink that workers could enjoy on their lunch break.
“It just shows you are appreciated” James Turner, maintenance specialist, said. “These departments and a lot of these guys do things that people don’t really see.”
“Their kinda behind the scenes and do things that people don’t really see in order for people to maintain their lifestyle at home.”
City administrator Dr. Sandra Yudice said that the employees have been working hard during this coronavirus crisis and that they are grateful for this lunch.
“They are being recognized for the hard work they do especially now during the pandemic,” Yudice said.
