Theatre Owners Grace and James Stephens are bringing a new live entertainment venue to Myrtle Beach and combining it with a conference and event center. Slated to open April 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. during a grand opening gala, the Asher Theatre, 3237 Waccamaw Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, will host celebrities and corporate businesses.

James Stephens III will headline at the theatre three nights a week with his "Man Of A Thousand Voices" show. The theatre will be available for rent at other times.

Owners said the theatre seats between 200 and 300 people. The conference center has three classrooms and two conference rooms.

“Pairing it with the theatre operation gives our venue tremendous versatility. You can hold your corporate event, family reunion or special event right here under one roof,” said Grace Stephens.

The Asher Theatre will bring a pop of Vegas in a Cotton Club style setting that is both family friendly and cultural, Grace Stephens added. During the grand opening gala, scholarships from the James Stephens Scholarship Foundation will be awarded to students from North and South Carolina.

Entertainers to be featured include Louis Price, former lead singer for the Temptations; T. Marvin Williams from the Persuaders, Nathan Heron from American Idol, Dakota O'Driscoll and Marion Ramsey from The Police Academy series, Reed Shannon from the Broadway hit show Motown the Musical and surprise guests.

Opening gala tickets benefit the scholarship foundation and may be purchased at www.ashertheatre.com or by calling the box office at 843-903-3100.
