Calling all nature photographers!
The annual South Carolina Wildlife/Hampton Wildlife Fund Photo contest is accepting entries from July 15 through Oct. 15.
The thousands of photographers who have entered the contests over the years have provided eye-popping images which highlight the unparalleled natural beauty available in the Palmetto State. Additionally, photographs have been featured in “South Carolina Wildlife” magazine, an award-winning publication produced by the Department of Natural Resources since 1954.
Interested photographers can submit entries in a variety of categories including Native Wildlife, Nature and Recreation. Each category also has four sub-categories.
Photographs will be judged based on the photograph’s impact, sharpness, composition, exposure, lighting and difficulty. Winning entries will be featured in an online photo gallery. Photographs will also be shown at the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic as well as social media.
“South Carolina Wildlife” encourages ethical photography in which wildlife is undisturbed in the pursuit of a shot and forays into the wilderness leave nothing behind but footprints.
