Emily Benson Mosley

Emily Jane Benson and Kenneth Alan Mosley were married July 15, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church in Georgetown.

The Rev. Paul C. Fuener and the Rev. David W.T. Thurlow officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Benson of Pawleys Island. She graduated from Francis Marion University and is employed with Amedisys Home Health.

The groom is the son of Mr. Brian Curtis Mosley of Pawleys Island and Mrs. Jackie Perkins of Georgetown. He graduated from Horry-Georgetown Tech and is employed with the Department of Natural Resources.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a semi-cathedral length candlelight wedding gown with a lace bodice and full tulle skirt. It was completed with a satin sash that tied in the back. Her veil was semi-cathedral length and was worn by her grandmother, mother, aunt and sister. It was encircled with Chantilly lace and adorned with pearl clusters. She carried a classic, loosely gathered bouquet of white lisianthus and white peonies with hints of white hydrangeas accompanied by textural elements of bells of Ireland tips, green dianthus and brunia berries. Minor accents of white dahlias and local camellia foliage mingled in with whisps of silver dollar eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus finished the look.

Matron of honor was Mary Ann Coker, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Brandi Watts Benson, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Amelia Brooke Mosley, daughter of the groom.

Groomsman was William Arden Church II and junior groomsman was Raiin Blitzen Mahaffey, friends of the groom. Ushers were John Edward Benson Jr., brother of the bride, Justin Dana Coker, brother-in-law of the bride, and Paul Fraser Mosley, brother of the groom.

Flower girls were Emily Grace Coker, niece of the bride, and Macie Claire Mosley, niece of the groom. Ring bearers were Jobe Benson and Smith Coker, nephews of the bride.

Music for the wedding was provided by pianist and soloist Jeremy S. Vause, organist James E. Calk and trumpeter Sydney Wyndham.

A reception was held at Pawleys Plantation.

Following the rehearsal, a dinner party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins at Big Tuna Restaurant in Georgetown.

On the day of the wedding, lunch was hosted by Mrs. Virginia McFaddin, Mrs. Kathy McElveen, Mrs. Mary Garland Roddey and Mrs. Ruth Stokes at the Benson home.

Prior to the wedding, Miss Benson and Mr. Mosley were honored with a variety of parties.

A couples shower was hosted by Dr. and Mrs. B. Lee Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Marion, Mr. and Mrs. John Stalvey and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Williams at the home of the Jones.

Mrs. Beth Marlowe, Mrs. Beth Gregory, Mrs. Chaun Lanoway, Mrs. Lydia Unsworth, Mrs. Katherine Mitchum, Mrs. Barbara Pittman, Mrs. Fran Jackson, Mrs. Barbara Dumm and Mrs. Sandy Gresham hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower at the home of the Pittmans.

A dinner was held for the family by the John Creech family in Pawleys Island.

A spa day was arranged for the bride and her attendants by Mrs. Ann Bolen, Mrs. Kathy Creech and Mrs. Patty Creech, aunts of the bride.

On the day of the wedding, lunch was hosted by Mrs. Virginia McFaddin, Mrs. Kathy McElveen, Mrs. Mary Garland Roddey and Mrs. Ruth Stokes at the Benson home.

After a wedding trip to Garden City, the couple is residing in Georgetown.
