Waccamaw boys finish second at two swim meets

The Waccamaw High boys swim team placed second at the Socastee Invitational on Sept. 8.

The top teams were: Socastee 203, Waccamaw 194 and Sumter 117.

Individual wins for the Warriors: 200 individual medley, Adam Dear (2:07.14); 50 freestyle, Luke LaRochelle (23.53); 100 butterfly, Adam Dear (57.92); 100 backstroke, Larochelle (57.85).

Relay wins for the Warriors: 200 freestyle, LaRochelle, Patrick Sullivan, Michael Dear, Adam Dear (1:35.28); 400 freestyle, Adam Dear, Sullivan, Michael Dear, Sam Sisney (3:42.15).

The girls swim team placed ninth at the Invitational.

The top teams were: Carolina Forest 196, Sumter 162 and North Myrtle Beach 143.

100 butterfly, Adam Dear (53.44); 500 freestyle, Adam Dear (4:59.94); Relay wins for the Warriors: 200 freestyle, Larochelle, Sullivan, Michael Dear, Adam Dear (1:35.18); 400 freestyle, Adam Dear, Sullivan, LaRochelle, Sisney (3:37.60).

The girls swim team finished sixth in the Waccamaw Invitational.

The top teams were: Carolina Forest 84, Myrtle Beach 37 and North Myrtle Beach 34.
