State champion soccer team holding tryouts

The Beach United Football Club Crush '99, girls U-12 team, which includes six players from Waccamaw Intermediate School, recently won a state championship at the South Carloina Youth Palmetto Academy Cup in Sumter.

The team did not give up a goal during cup play, and beat Easley 5-0 for the title.

The Beach United Football Club is holding tryouts for boys and girls ages 9-18 for next season.

U16-U18 boys (birth date Aug. 1, 1994 to July 31, 1997), May 3, 6-8 p.m. and May 5, noon-2 p.m. at Market Common.

U16-U18 girls (birth date Aug. 1, 1994 to July 31, 1997), May 3, 6-8 p.m. and May 5, 2-4 p.m. at Market Common.

U13-U15 boys and girls (birth date Aug. 1, 1997-July 31, 2000), May 16, 6-8 p.m. at Market Common, and May 22, 6-8 p.m. at Y Fields at 67th Ave.

U9-U12 academy boys (born on or after Aug. 1, 2000), May 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and May 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Y Fields at 67th Ave.

U9-U12 academy girls (born on or after Aug. 1, 2000), May 23, 4:30-6:30 p.m. and May 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Y Fields at 67th Ave.

Make up dates for boys and girls of all ages: May 30 and 31, 6-8 p.m. at Y Fields at 67th Ave.
