Old Mill announces seven college team popcorns for 2013 season

Tiger Paw Popcorn by Clemson University and Gamecocks Popcorn by the University of South Carolina are two new flavors of Old Mill Kettle Corn.

Chickamauga, GA - Saying that it is the most powerful collegiate marketing innovation in snack foods, Old Mill Kettle Corn president Mike Proctor announced the launch of seven kettle corns licensed by major universities just in time for the kick-off of the college football season.
“We know there are millions of college football fans who are ready to support the launch of our products and gobble up the goodness of our kettle corn,” said Proctor. “Our unique licensing agreement enables us to offer team-branded kettle corn that is sweet, salty and deliciously irresistible.”
The licensing agreement enables Old Mill Kettle Corn to market: Big Orange Popcorn by the University of Tennessee, Bulldogs Popcorn by the University of Georgia, Gator Corn by the University of Florida, Tiger Paw Popcorn by Clemson University, Gamecocks Popcorn by the University of South Carolina, Ramblin’ Wreck Popcorn by Georgia Tech and Seminoles Popcorn by Florida State University.
“It is the most powerful collegiate marketing innovation in snack food history and we’re excited about using the collegiate marketing opportunity to introduce the complete line of Old Mill Kettle Corn products to consumers all year,” Proctor said.
The collegiate popcorn will be marketed to each college team’s fan base through advertising during team football radio broadcasts, via team social media sites, at stadium concession stands and campus book stores.
“The power of college football is extraordinary in the south,” said Proctor. “Thus, we believe that social media will be an important factor in sharing our new brands with college football fanatics everywhere.”
Old Mill is launching the team popcorns with a V.I.P. Experience Sweepstakes. Fans can visit their team’s popcorn website to enter to win tickets for two to a one-of-a-kind experience during one of their team’s home games in 2013. They can enter the sweepstakes by including numbers printed on each bag. There is no purchase necessary to enter the contest.
Old Mill Kettle Corn’s collegiate popcorns will be available near the team’s fan base at supermarket and convenience store retailers, including: Kroger, Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo, Earth Fare, Food City, and other retailers.
