Deep-water fishing teams from across South Carolina will gather on Aug. 10-11 for the fifth annual Belle Isle Marina - Charles B. DuBose Memorial Wahoo Tournament.
This year's tournament will once again be conducted by the Friends of Belle Isle Marina Association and its Wahoo Tournament planning committee, chaired by Charles Young.
Several events are planned for the tournament, beginning with the captain's meeting, social hour and dinner, and silent auction on Aug. 10.
Tournament participants will be competing for the $5,000 first prize on Aug. 11 of the largest aggregate weigh-in of two Wahoo. Other prizes will be awarded for second and third place, lady angler and youth angler.
The tournament weigh-ins will be Aug. 10 from 3-6 p.m., an additional silent auction, music with DJ Ragin Lambert, and an exciting awards dinner will take place in the evening.
The presenting sponsor for this year is DuBose Ins. Marketing, in partnership with Dilmar Oil Company, Litus-To-Let, Superior Machine Inc., and Brooks Auction Services.
There is still time for "early-bird" boat registrations, by calling Belle Isle Marina or Charles Young at (843) 461-4320. Sponsorships and a limited number of spectator admissions are also available.
