Horry County Police Detectives arrested a family member and his roommate in connection with the stabbing death of 44-year-old Christopher Nance in Murrells Inlet on Tuesday.
According to Sgt. Robert Kegler, Joshua Wilson, 25, a nephew of Nance, and Wilson’s roommate Dustin Autry, 24, of Murrells Inlet were arrested late Tuesday.
Nance was found around 11:30 a.m. with multiple stab wounds at 700 Van Buren Dr., near the Suck, Bang, Blow biker bar.
Nance had worked in the past at his family’s restaurant, Nance’s Cedar Hill Landing in Murrells Inlet.
The restaurant closed in the last couple of years, but Nance was still well known in the area and that “everybody in Murrells Inlet knows him,” residents said.
Autry and Wilson were formally charged Wednesday, Kegler said.
Detectives said both suspects disposed of the weapon used in the crime by throwing it in the ocean.
