Monday evening, the four candidates for the Democratic nomination for South Carolina’s new 7th Congressional District will face off in a forum.
The event starts at 7 p.m. in the Glisson Center at Bethel AME Church on Broad Street in Georgetown. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The Georgetown County Democratic Party is hosting the event. Editors Tommy Howard of the Georgetown Times, Waccamaw Times and Inlet Outlook and Charles Swenson of the Coastal Observer will ask questions.
Readers of the two papers have submitted questions to the editors.
Candidates are Preston Brittain, Parnell Diggs, Harry Pavilack and Gloria Bromell Tinubu.
Ted Vick was also in the race until his arrest a week ago in Columbia for speeding, driving under the influence and carrying a concealed weapon with a permit that expired in 2007. A female college student was in the car with the married father of two children.
The forum will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
There is no charge for admission.
The Primary Election will be held Tuesday, June 12 at regular polling places throughout Georgetown County and across the new 7th District.
