Suspects charged in Dollar General armed robbery case

Two suspects have been charged in a Dollar General armed robbery on the evening of Feb. 26, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Deandre Dwain Hickman, 17, of 4523 Accomp Drive in Conway and Juwan Dashawn Jones, 17, of 4514 Will Park Lane in Conway have been charged in the case.

Hickman and Jones are each charged with one count of armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and two counts of kidnapping.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, two suspects entered the Dollar General located at 8003 N. Fraser St., brandished a hand gun, and demanded money from an employee. The suspects exited the store and fled behind the Dollar General into the woods with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Georgetown County Sheriff’s deputies took the two suspects into custody at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 27 on Highway 701, just south of the Plantersville Store.

Hickman and Jones were transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center where they will await a bond hearing.
