Caroline Brogan Ciuba and Daniel Griffin Temple, both of Murrells Inlet, were married at 6 p.m. on Sat., May 31, 2014.
The bride is the daughter of Cindy and Jeffrey George Ciuba of Murrells Inlet. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Ciuba of Orlando, Florida and the late Sherrill Davis Ciuba of Atlanta, Georgia; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Brogan of Augusta, Georgia.
She is a graduate of Waccamaw High School, the College of Charleston and The Citadel, where she earned a Master’s Degree in professional school counseling. She is a guidance counselor in Georgetown County School District.
The groom is the son of Lise and William Derrick Temple of Murrells Inlet. He is the grandson of the late Sarah Houck Temple and the late Dr. Harry Ray Temple of Florence; and Allene Williams Griffin and the late Dr. Joe Asa Griffin II of Florence.
He is a graduate of the first Senior Class of St. James High School, Clemson University’s School of Finance, and the College of Charleston, where he earned his Masters of Accountancy Degree. He is a Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) with Debbie Leonard CPA Firm in Murrells Inlet.
The Reverend Mike B. Alexander, senior pastor of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, and Deacon Don Efken of St. Michael Catholic Church performed the ceremony at Belin.
Music was presented by Jim Sellars (organ) , Suzanne Young (piano) and Jonathan Tester singing with Merrell Kennedy “The Prayer,” and “Ava Maria.”
The Bride entered the sanctuary on her father’s arm during “Come Thou Font of Every Blessing,” a favorite of the newlyweds.
Mrs. Bogan Temple, the bride’s sister-in-law, of Augusta Georgia, was matron of honor. Katherine Wheeler of Pawleys Island and Hillary Griggs of Hartsville were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Davison, Leah Jones, Jackie Cerasaro, Katherine Young, all of Charleston, and Melanie Brown of Myrtle Beach.
Junior bridesmaids were Rylee and Morgan Allison of Murrells Inlet. Flower girls were Bre Brogan of Augusta, the bride’s niece, and Allene and Kate Fletcher of Greenville, the groom’s nieces. Carter Allison of Murrells Inlet was ring bearer.
The groom’s father served as his best man. Groomsmen were Dr. William Harry Temple of Augusta, the groom’s brother; Mathew Ciuba of Murrells Inlet, the bride’s brother; Hall Province of Greenville; Woody Durant of Charleston; Burton Powell of Charlotte; and Bec Coggeshall and Clayton Boykin of Murrells Inlet.
The outdoor reception was held on the Inlet at the home of the bride’s parents. After the couple’s “Big Fat Creek Wedding” they departed by boat and returned to spend the next day celebrating with all of their family before leaving for Scrubb Island in the BVIs.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents and held at Inlet Affairs on Friday evening May 30.
The bridesmaid’s luncheon was at the home of Janet Wall in The Hermitage and also hosted by Celia Powell, Janet Miller and Whitney Hewitt.
Prior to the wedding the couple were feted with several celebratory parties:
An engagement party at Red’s in Bohicket Marina on Sea Brook Island hosted by The Lance Blalocks, The Joe Griffins, The Dale Barths, The William Temples, The Tallon Temples and Mrs. Allene Griffin.
An oyster roast hosted by The Steve Allisons, The Robby Byrums, The Eric Coxs, The Kent Liptons, The Kevin Murrays and The Booty Shelleys.
Cocktails on The Inlet, at the home of The Gairy Nichols and also hosted by The Steve Hawleys, The Burney Bournes, The Cliff Smiths, The John Gandys, The Danny Idols, The David Tomlinsons, The Chester Abees, The Michael Hirschs, The Beau Forshees, The Jimmy Yahnis’, The Dwight Boykins, Mrs. Jessica Flynn and Ms. Lynn Coggeshall.
A Christmas wedding shower at the home of Alice Durant and also hosted by Lynne Boykin and Lynn Coggeshall.
A stock the kitchen shower at the home of Tonya Allison and also hosted by Mary Tester.
A pre-wedding wine and cheese welcome held at Marshmere on the Inlet and hosted by The Hank Wrights, The Tim Brogans and The Keith Craws.
Several months before the wedding the bridesmaids and groomsmen planned unusual, memorable and fun bachelor and bachelorette get-a-ways.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Griffin Temple have proudly made Murrells Inlet their home.
