SC-CARES, Coastal Animal Rescue & Educational Sanctuary, has announced their Fall Golf Tournament to be held at Wedgefield Plantation Country Club in Georgetown.
The new owners of Wedgefield also own Island Green Country Club and wanted to continue to ‘give back’ to the community program at the new Club by holding a tournament to benefit a local charity.
Club members and SC-CARES volunteers John Seiple and Larry Miller nominated the local animal rescue and sanctuary.
The date is Sat., Sept. 27, format will be 4-man scramble (captains’ choice), registration and continental breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m., and shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The goal is to get 120+ players at $65, includes $5 for cash prizes, also includes golf and cart, breakfast, buffet lunch, a goody bag of snacks, product prizes, hole-in-one, closest to the pin ($100 prize), longest drive ($100 prize), and another goody bag.
There will be a silent auction as part of the post play awards ceremony.
Players may bring guests to the awards ceremony for free or if eating guests will be $10 each.
Multiple players will earn or win a chance to shoot for $1,000,000.
Sponsor expenses should be deductable as advertizing expenses.
For $600 a ‘Gold’ sponsor will include 2 4-man teams and a hole sponsorship, sponsors’ name and logo will be displayed at the registration table and the awards banquet.
For $400 a ‘Silver’ sponsor will include 1 4-man team and a hole sponsorship, sponsors’ name and logo will be displayed at the registration table and the awards banquet.
Closest to the pin and longest drive contest sponsors at $250 includes signage with name and logo on the hole used for the contests and also on the tally boards used for tracking the winners, with special mention during the awards banquet, $100 is allocated to prize money.
A hole sponsorship will be $100 and will include a sign with name and logo on the Tee of one hole.
Donations of prize products, gifts and auction items will be acknowledged in the program and with signage at the event.
All donations are tax deductable less the value of anything received in return for the items.
SC-CARES plans to use any proceeds from the golf tournament to support the completion of a new Macaw Aviary, upgrade and expansion of habitats for the large animal residents, and general operation expenses like food, vet care, utilities, and insurance.
