Deli owners venture into Real Estate

Provided Andy and Michele Giarratano, owners of Front Street Deli in Georgetown, are now real estate agents for The Steel Company.

Owners of Front Street Deli in Georgetown are now selling real estate in addition to selling sandwiches.

Greeting and feeding customers at the deli for 18 years, Andy and Michele Giarratano of Pawleys Island have also bought property five times.

Those experiences made them realize that the housing market is exciting, so they recently earned their real estate licenses.

“We just really enjoy the process of building a home, living there and then selling it,” Michele Giarratano said.

“Real estate has helped us, so we hope in the future we will be able to help other people as well.”

Andy Giarratano said he is excited about this new venture.

“It will be a great way to keep an eye on the market,” he said.

“We might see something we didn’t see before.”

He said they will continue serving lunch at the deli.

They are working as independent contractors with The Steel Agency, a new real estate company in Pawleys Island that handles residential and commercial sales, and rental property management and maintenance.

Andrew Steel, owner and broker of the company, has known the couple for 12 years.

He said he thinks the Giarratanos, with their business experience and knowledge of the area, will do well in real estate.

“They are both honest and hardworking,” Steel said, “They are outgoing and know a lot of people.”
