Big win for St. James JV football

JV Sharks beat Andrews 34-6.

St. James’ JV Sharks opened football season with a big win over Andrews on Aug. 28 despite the varsity’s disappointing first loss.

The varsity lost 27-7 at Loris on Aug. 22.

The loss may have inspired the JV team to win their first home game.

St. James had 20 points at the end of the first quarter.

At halftime, St. James led 27-6 and got its final touchdown in the second half.

Tyree Rutledge scored three touchdowns for St. James.

Two Andrews’ players sustained injuries in the second half of the game, but both were able to walk off the field.

The final score of the game was 34-6.
