Remembering 9/11

Sun., Sept. 7

The community and businesses of Andrews are sponsoring the third annual 9/11 Remembrance and Recognition Service on Sun., Sept. 7.

Gather at the pavilion (behind the Andrews library) at 4 p.m. for food, fellowship, and awards.

During this time a gift will be given to each police, fire, EMS, and town employees. Awards will be given by Woodmen and other organizations. Sponsors include Andrews Church of God, Woodmen of the World, local businesses and organizations. Remember and honor those who serve.

Thurs., Sept. 11

The VFW Post 6444 and American Legion Post 114, in conjunction with the Georgetown Lions Club, will be waving flags on the Georgetown side of the bridges, near the Quality Inn, from 8:46 to 10:03 a.m. Large flags will also hang from fire trucks at the event. The South Strand Lions Club will be waving flags in front of City Hall in Surfside Beach from 8:46 to 10:03 a.m.
