Jenny K. Lim weds John L. Swinnie Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. John Swinnie Jr.

Miss Jenny Kay Lim of Lexington and Mr. John Lovell Swinnie Jr. of Andrews were married May 17, 2014 at Rutledge Chapel on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

The 5:30 ceremony was performed by Laura W. Hogan, aunt of the groom.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Lim of Lexington, is the granddaughter of the late John Lim and the late Natividad Lim. Maternal grandparents are the late Rufino and the late Nena Licup.

She is a graduate of Lexington High School and the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Swinnie of Andrews, is the grandson of Dr. Andrew J. and Dr. Lois D. Whitaker and the late Alice Z. Whitaker of Columbia, and Catherine L. and the late Robert F. Swinnie of Andrews.

He is a graduate of Andrews High School and the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a chiffon fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline and ruching at the waist.

The dress had a sweep-length train, with a low V at the back. Silver embroidery and beading trailed down the front of the dress and also accented the back and the train.

Marjorie Lim of West Columbia, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Robin S. Alkire of Chapin, sister of the groom, Nikki Palushock of Mt. Pleasant, Amanda Richards of Lexington and Becky Kyle of Durham, N.C., all friends of the bride.

John L. Swinnie Sr. served as his sonís best man.

Groomsmen were Brian Lim of Lexington, brother of the bride, Tony Fuentes of Myrtle Beach, Mark Gryzenia of Charleston and Jake Howard of Columbia, all friends of the groom.

Flower girls were Abigail Bacon and Kailee Smith, great cousins of the bride.

Ring bearer was Matthew Bacon, great cousin of the bride.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Marriott in Columbia, featuring special guest, Cocky. The couple will reside in Mt. Pleasant.
