To alleviate parents’ fears or to get a student athlete into necessary treatment, Georgetown Hospital System and Waccamaw Orthopaedics will once again offer free sports injury clinics for student athletes this fall.
The free clinics will be held every Saturday morning through Nov. 1.
Staffed by orthopedic specialists, the clinics will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at Waccamaw Orthopaedics, located at 4040 Highway 17 Bypass, Suite 101, in Murrells Inlet, and at NextStep’s Georgetown Outpatient Therapy Center, located at 219 Church St. in Georgetown.
Dr. William Greer, a board-certified orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Gavin Vaughn, a board-certified sports medicine physician, and Shantae Siefert, a certified physician assistant, will staff the free clinics, which are open to all area student athletes.
Dr. Greer said the clinics have been born out of a necessity to see injured students on a day when parents don’t have to take off work and children won’t miss school. For more information about the free sports injury clinics, call 843-652-8160.
