The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) will begin at Precious Blood of Christ (PBOC) in October. All adults interested in learning more about the Roman Catholic Church are invited to attend an informational session at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Parish Life Center at PBOC.
RCIA is a series of classes on the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church.
It involves individual counseling with Pastor Fr. Pat Stenson, special liturgical rites in which the person electing to join the church is received by the parish community and the wider church, and via prayer and discernment that culminates with the full reception into the Catholic Church at Easter.
RCIA is conducted under the guidance and direction of the Diocese of South Carolina and the pastor Fr. Pat.
Anyone interested in learning more about RCIA, should contact the Parish Office (Maureen Arneman at 843-237-3428).
Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church is located at 1633 Waverly Rd., Pawleys Island.
