Jason’s House wants community involment

Elaine Paige was the guest speaker at the Optimist Club on Aug. 21.

The South Strand Optimist Club was privileged to have Elaine Paige, director of Jasonís House, as its guest speaker on Thurs., Aug. 21, at Applewood House of Pancakes.

She talked about the mission of Surfside United Methodist Church to provide free weeklong vacations to families with a child with life-threatening cancer.

She explained how the community can assist with this great program. She welcomes volunteers.

The South Strand Optimist Club serves the Town of Surfside Beach, the communities of Burgess, St. James, Garden City Beach, Murrells Inlet, the Waccamaw Neck, and the City of Georgetown.

Optimist Clubs are known throughout the world for ĎBringing Out the Best in Kids.í
