Music in the Park to honor Whittaker

  • Wednesday, August 27, 2014

About two and a half months ago, Jeannie Whittaker, owner of the Wild Fish Grill, a young, intelligent, hard working business owner suffered a brain aneurysm.

She was taken from her business on Front Street to Georgetown Memorial Hospital and then medivaced to MUSC. After she was stabilized, her prognosis was not good; doctors were not sure she would live.

If she survived, doctors expected she would have to live with a feeding tube, confined to a wheelchair, with loss of memory and limited speech.

However today, she has defied the odds and is convalescing at her home in Charlotte NC, walking and talking with memory intact. Now Jeannie is coming home to Georgetown on Thurs., Aug. 28, at 5:30 for Music In the Park presented by the Georgetown Business Association and sponsored by The Wild Fish Grill and The Rice Paddy.

At the concert, Jeannie will be given a special award by the GBA presented by Matt Wesolowski, president. Please come to Francis Marion Park for a great concert and welcome Jeannie home.
