Vote for Anderson

  • Friday, August 22, 2014

To the Editor:

[This is a] note to Republicans:

The Democrat primary election on Sept. 2 may decide who your next State Senator will be.

There is no Republican in the race.

Georgetown County Republicans who live in District 32 need to vote in this primary and not allow Williamsburg County Democrats to decide who your Senator will be.

This is an open primary, anyone in Senate District 32 can vote. Google “S.C. Senate District Map” to see if you are in 32. Basically District 32 is a small part of Berkeley and Marion Counties, all of Williamsburg County and most Georgetown County except the Waccamaw Neck and Maryville.

This is an extremely important election for the future of all of Georgetown County. We are poised to pass a 1 percent sales tax to begin long overdue improvements to the port, roads, tourism on the Neck and fire stations. Our economy is beginning to grow again.

Georgetown County is the economic engine that powers Senate District 32. This progress, the jobs, the future of our county cannot be put in the hands of anyone from Williamsburg County, or any other county. We have to control our future.

There is only one person in this election who has been in the forefront of representing Georgetown County for the past 10 years, who is from Georgetown County, who has the interest of our county at heart, who has been working in Columbia to fund the port dredging and support the business and job growth in Georgetown County.

That is S. C. Representative Carl Anderson. He will continue to work for Georgetown County if elected to the Senate.

As a Republican, I ask you to vote for Democrat Carl Anderson. This election is far too important to allow party politics to keep us from deciding our own future.

Please join other Republicans in supporting Carl Anderson for Senate seat 32.
