Moveable Feast – Literary luncheons with exciting authors

  • Friday, August 22, 2014

The Moveable Feast is held at area restaurants throughout the year on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On occasion, an authorís book tour schedule is accommodated with a mid-week Moveable Feast. For each feast, the chef prepares an exquisite menu, typically unavailable during the restaurantís public hours. The luncheons range in size from 30 to 300. The presentation precedes the meal. Individuals, couples, friends, book clubs and other groups are assigned table seating. Each literary luncheon is followed by a book signing at Litchfield Books for those unable to participate in the feast. Each feast is $25; books are available at a 10 percent discount from Litchfield Books. For schedules and reservations, call 843-235-9600 or www.classatpawleys.com.

Aug. 29 Ė Linwood Barclay (No Safe House) at Inlet Affairs

New York Times bestselling author Linwood Barclay delivers an electrifying novel of suspense in which a familyís troubled past is about to return in more ways than one. And this time, they may not be able to escape. Seven years ago, Terry Archer and his family, who first appeared in No Time for Goodbye, experienced a horrific ordeal that nearly cost them their lives. Today, the echoes of that fateful night are still audible. Terryís wife, Cynthia, is living separate from her husband and daughter after her own personal demons threatened to permanently ruin her relationship with them. Their daughter, Grace, is rebelling against her parentsí seemingly needless overprotection. Terry is just trying to keep his family together. And the entire town is reeling from the senseless murder of two elderly locals.
