National Night Out a success

  • Friday, August 22, 2014

Sheriff Lane Cribb and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who attended the 31st annual National Night Out event on Tues., Aug. 5.

The event was a huge success due to the hard work of everyone involved.

The following participants and organizations ensured all who attended had an enjoyable time:

Georgetown City Fire, Georgetown County Fire and EMS, Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Employees, Pepsi-Cola, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, St. Frances Animal Center, and Wal-Mart.

National Night Out is a community building campaign designed to:

Heighten crime prevention awareness

Generate support and participation in anti-crime programs

Strengthen neighborhood spirit and community-police partnerships

Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Sheriff Lane Cribb commented, “Providing a fun and safe outing for the entire family brings a community together and forms a positive relationship with law enforcement and other agencies. I think next year will be even bigger and better.”
