An Andrews man was killed as he was fishing in the Lamberttown community this morning.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident that occurred at about 10:20 a.m. near a boat landing off of Sandhole Road, according to a DNR official.
Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Paulette Radcliffe said 70-year-old Franklin David Goude of Kent Road was in a boat with another person under a tree when a limb fell on him.
She said Goude was pronounced dead on the scene. The other person in the boat survived without serious injury.
