The Horry County Police Department is asking the public’s help in building a case against a man who is in custody after a string of vehicle thefts between midnight and 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in
the Garden City Beach area.
At least seven reports of items being taken from vehicles and under houses have been reported to police; however, officers think there may have been other incidents.
“Even if it’s minor, please call and report any theft,” said Cpl. Justin Wyatt.
Officers have not released the suspect’s name, but Wyatt said he is in custody at the J.
Ruben Long Detention Center.
Other charges are pending, Wyatt said. He added that police are seeking a second man in the incidents.
The incidents all occurred in the beach area, east of Business 17.
