Twenty students in the Williamsburg Technical College (WTC) Practical Nursing (PN) program received their nursing pins and certificates of completion for the year-long rigorous program which enables them to sit for the practical nursing licensing board exams.

During the ceremony where family and friends gathered in the WTC auditorium, students were congratulated by WTC president Dr. Patty A. Lee and vice president for academic affairs Clifton Elliott.

Guest speaker for the ceremony was Williamsburg Regional Hospital chief nursing officer Bambi Floyd. She urged the graduates to always treat their patients as if they were their own family.

Student speaker Suzette McKenzie followed up Floyd’s comments by describing how the students were more like family than fellow classmates.

Members of the 2015 Practical Nursing class have already participated in orientation for their upcoming first semester of study. For more information on the WTC PN program, call 843-355-4130.
