Horry County leaders confirm Walmart submitted a proposal to build a tenth store in the county.

Horry County spokesperson Lisa Bourcier told WBTW Walmart submitted plans to build a Walmart Neighborhood Market and Murphy USA gas station on the site of the old Suck Bang Blow Four Corners.

The motorcycle bar on U.S. Highway 17 Bypass near Inlet Square Mall and Tournament Boulevard closed last year and the building was torn down in May.

Bourcier said the land would not need to be re-zoned, and all Walmart would need is a permit to build.

If approved, it would be the companyís tenth store in the county.

There are seven Walmart stores and a Samís Club already open, along with a Walmart Neighborhood Market that opened this spring on U.S. Highway 17 near Ocean Lakes Campground and S.C. Highway 544.
