A 31-year-old man turned himself in on Monday, five days after a home invasion and alleged sexual assault.
Louis Dean Heyward, Jr. of Exodus Drive was wanted in connection with a home invasion that happened at about 9 p.m. July 30 at a home on Haven Drive in Green Acres Mobile Home Park, according to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.
"The victim heard the rear door of the residence open and a black male appeared inside the home. The suspect pushed the victim (a woman) to the floor where a struggle ensued," Cuthbertson said in a press release.
The suspect then released the victim and fled out the rear door.
Heyward is charged with one count each of Burglary First Degree, Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, Kidnapping, and Assault and Battery First Degree.
Heyward was denied bond and is being housed at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
