Flood Watch in effect through the weekend

  • Friday, August 1, 2014

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch which is in effect until Sunday evening.
Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will have the potential to produce rainfall of 2 to 4 inches through Sunday evening. Isolated areas over 6 inches are possible.

Heavy rain will be falling on areas that have received significant rainfall during the last few weeks. Increased runoff will elevate flooding potential.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
