Local native celebrates annual dance recital

EXPRESSIONS OF CULTURE Dance Ministries held their second annual dance recital “A Golden Evening of the Arts” on July 19, at the Alex Chatman Complex in front of a huge crowd. The dance recital conducted by Dominique Jones-Goode, choreographer and founder of the non-profit organization. Family and friends enjoyed fine performances by the different groups. Special entertainment was provided by Kenneth G. Gardner Elementary School JAG Dancers, Dancin’ Eagles of Summerton, Angelical Expressions, Darsha Fluitt, Total Praise Team, Friendship United Methodist Church, and Linda Woods, Williamsburg County Victim’s/Witness Advocate. Domonique Jones-Goode, a Kingstree native and sole proprietor of a South Carolina non-profit organization 501 3© also in collaboration with Kenneth Gardner Elementary School JAG Dancers entitled, “Expressions of Culture Dance Ministries by Domonique, celebrates a second annual dance recital entitled, “A Golden Evening of the Arts.” This event was held at the Alex Chatman County Complex of Williamsburg County on Saturday, July 19, at 6 p.m. Ms. Domonique stated, “Discovering the gift of dance was a beautiful plan that made room for me throughout trials and tribulations. Throughout the creative bate of dance, God blessed me with unique choreographic skills through the movement of jazz, inspirational (Christian arts), creative movement (Hula-Hoop) to African dancing to share among others. Ms. Goode also adds out of all the dance selections she enjoys African dancing the most because this is a unique style of dancing that allows for me to embrace my culture.”

Ms. Goode also adds that this organization is open to all races and does not discriminate, but respects all culture.

This event also allowed for local businesses and great leaders among Williamsburg County to take part by sharing positive character skills they included the following spokesmen:

Cassandra Williams Rush, Owner of the C. Williams Art Gallery of Kingstree, Dr. Jennifer G. Gardner, Kenneth Gardner Elementary School Principal along with Attorney William Barr, owner of Barr Law Firm & the Ark Ministries of Kingstree. Various groups that entertained the crowds were the Dancin Eagles, of Summerton, Total Praise of Kingstree along with Darshia Fluitt.

“I look forward to another spectacular event along with hopefully opening to a town near you an Expressions of Culture Dance Ministries Studio,”stated Domonigue Jones-Goode.
