The First Tee of the Grand Strand announces its annual volunteer coach recruiting program has begun.
Anyone wishing to become a First Tee certified volunteer coach in Georgetown and Horry counties for the 2014-15 school year should attend a three hour training on Saturday morning, Aug. 9 at Tradition Golf Clubhouse.
Interested persons should contact program director, Tommy Gaither at email@example.com or 843-833-2999 to reserve a spot.
There is no cost for the training.
Coaches will learn how to teach students the First Tee nine core character values through the game of golf. Volunteers need not be expert golfers, only have an enjoyment of watching kids learn and be successful.
Certified First Tee volunteer coaches may choose from a number of programs and sites to volunteer around Georgetown and Horry counties. Program schedules will begin the second week in September.
