The Georgetown County Belles softball team won the state championship on July 15 and will play in the World Series in Ponchatoula, LA.
The Belles beat Iva by a score of 6 to 5, according to Brooke Cooper, mother of one of the team..
That team beat the Belles last year in the state championship game.
The Belles, a team of girls ages 13 to 15, leave on July 31 and will play the host team on Aug. 2, Cooper said.
