Musical theater: The Swamp Fox Players will present the musical “Hairspray” at the Strand Theater, 710 Front St., Georgetown. Women’s safety: There will be a women’s safety event from noon to 4 p.m. at Goldfinch & Winlow Attorneys and Counselors at Law, 11019 Tournament Blvd, Suite 202, Murrells Inlet. The Rape Crisis Center, the Family Justice Center, the Karate Studio and the Freedom Boat Club will be participating.

ribbon cutting: There will be a grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. and a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. at Goldfinch Winslow Law Firm, LLC at 11019 Tournament Blvd., Suite 202, Murrells Inlet.

SHABBAT SERVICES: Temple Beth Elohim, a Reform Jewish congregation located at 230 Screven St., holds services every Friday at 7:30 p.m. Call 527-7545.

Homebuyers: The Charleston Trident Urban League will provide information on the steps to take in purchasing a home, from credit to moving in. Lunch is provided. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required. The training will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bunnelle Center, 8263B Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island. golf tournament: Bethel Apartments is sponsoring their second annual golf tournament to benefit Carolinian Inn Mission Project at Wedgefield Golf Club. For information call 843-546-4898.

Peach Festival: St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church, 180 St. Paul Place, Litchfield, will be having their Peach Festival from 4 to 7 p.m.

Shag Club: The South Strand Shag Club will meet at 8 p.m. at VFW Post 10420 in Murrells Inlet. This will be their annual “Vinyl Party.” Come dance the night away as DJs Dennis Murphy and Jackie Pusser will spin favorite 45s. Members, guests and visitors are always welcome. Ribbon cutting: There will be a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. at the Winyah Townhomes, 407 Lynch St., Georgetown.

Kayak Race: The annual Pawleys Island Kayak Race will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the North Causeway to the island. Racers will include kayaks and paddle boards. There is a $10 entry fee. For more information, call Pawleys Island Town Hall at 237-1698.
